Tuesday 6 February 2018 is Safer Internet Day, a national campaign that promotes the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people.

Safer Internet Day aims to not only create a safer internet, but also a better internet, where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

The theme this year is “Create, Connect and Share Respect: a better internet starts with you”. The focus is to encourage everyone to make the most of the internet’s potential to bring people together.

With newspapers regularly printing articles about the challenges around children’s online safety (such as this BBC article from last week), it’s particularly important that we show our commitment to a safer internet.

Getting involved As usual, Adopters for Adoption will be supporting Safer Internet Day 2018 and you may also like to make your own pledge to do something positive online, taking an action to make the internet a better place.
